At last night’s Council meeting, Cr Rohan Leppert tabled a petition requesting a Melbourne laneway be named after the late rock legend Chrissy Amphlett.

The Age reports:

Earlier this month a petition bearing the names of more than 6000 people was presented to Cr Leppert by Amphlett’s cousin, Australian music icon Little Pattie, real name Patricia Amphlett.

Cr Leppert said the ARIA Hall of Fame inductee had a good-humoured warning for him.

“She said if we didn’t do it she was going to lead an army of Chrissy Amphlett fans up to Melbourne Town Hall.”
